Then the grower and I will compare notes. If the vineyard is farther away, like the Lodi vineyard that our Albarino comes from, I rely on the grower’s tastebuds and we confer based on the numbers.

Thanks for sharing this knowledge. It is amazing how much science goes into the art of wine making. If you buy grapes that are harvested from other vineyards do you get to taste it and get the numbers?
